Christ.
The Lamb of God, perfect, blameless, holy, mediator and intercessor on our behalf, he who sits on the right hand side of God.
Saviour, redeemer, friend.
The man, who being on earth 33 years, only 3 of which he was commissioned to act, saw this whole world change, saw a revolution be born. Saw countless people healed, delivered, set free, forgiven. At the end of the book of John it says that were all His deeds recorded, there would not be enough pages to write down all that He did!
“Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.”
John 21:25
Crucified, hung on a cross, humiliated....
Dead.
This man who rose again on the third day, conquering death, conquering sin, releasing all the forgiveness of God to those who would call on His name.
This man who ascended to the high places, went back to where he came from, taken up in glory to heaven, seated on the throne.
““like a son of man,” dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
Revelation 1:13-18
This man sends shivers down my spine...
This man is my best friend.
This man is my God, my Saviour and my Lord.
This man is beyond anything that I can understand.
His power is limitless.
What God has shown me the last few months is this....
All that he has, all that he has.... Is mine.
Say what?!
You heard me right my friend. All that he has, he promises us. All the power that he wielded on earth, is ours.
But wait, there's more!
How can there be more you say, what can possibly be greater than this.
How about.. His mind?
You see through the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit,
“we have the mind of Christ”
1 Corinthians 2:16
What does that mean? It means that all those times when I'm not sure what to do, when I am lost, lonely, unsure, insecure. He is there with me, and I have all the information and grace that I need to do exactly what I am called to do.
How many times do we see Jesus pull some crazy stunt out of nowhere to escape a seemingly impossible situation? When the Pharisees came to him with trick questions to trap him, accuse him and kill him, there was always some way that he found a way out, and not only that, but turned the tables on them as well!
So many times I have thought, who am I, that I can do anything?
Who am I, that I can see nations changed?
Who am I to go up against the spiritual forces of this dark world, and come out alive.. let alone victorious!?
Maybe you do too?
I am a son of the most high God. I am a co-heir with Christ, with power through the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to move mountains and tear down ANY stronghold or argument or pretension that sets itself up against me.
I have the mind of Christ. And I dare say that if you are reading this... You do too.
The very mind of God, is available to you... Is yours for the taking.
I don't want to just go ahead and say that you have it no matter what, and so you quote me on that when you start a crusade against some Muslim nation, as others have done in earlier times.
But let me tell you right now, that all the wisdom, knowledge and intelligence of God is available to be used and utilised by you, by me. If we take the time to listen.
That is incredible news! And the verse “with God all things are possible” really begins to take shape.
Finally let me finish with this, there are many ways to live your life, and no matter how you chose to live it, God will meet you where you are, and will love you regardless, but for me, I want the best.
There is a good, a pleasing and a perfect will of God, that will bring about a 30, 60 or hundredfold return and blessing upon it.
I can have the good life of God, heck I can even have the pleasing life, and it will be gooood!
But I want the perfect will of God.
For my future.
For my ministry,
For my wife.
I know that you do too.
Here's the kicker, to live that life, we need to hear God's voice and live as Jesus did, doing all that the Father told him to do.
I believe that you can do it.
I have seen many people, who the world calls weak, stupid, failures... I have seen them live a life that is impossible by all the standards of the world. A life of victory, of fulfilment, of conquering sin and death.
I am walking that road, and still have a long way to go, but I have decided, to live the perfect will of God.
The only question is this then... Will you?
