So here we are already 3 weeks in to the DTS that I have been preparing for and looking towards for the past 6 months. I knew that time would fly, but 3 weeks down already!!
It has been an incredible time, with so many new things happening at one time. As a base we are moving forward in our building project, which means that our warehouse is very busy and noisy all the time. Full of dirt and dust from grinding, sawing, cutting, breaking and everything else you can think of.
Over the next months we are having 3 different building teams come in to help out with the builds, from Melbourne, Hawaii, and New Zealand. This means that at times we are going to have around 120-130 people living in our house! TO say that it will be crazy is a significant understatement.
In the middle of this I am leading a school of 6 students into what God has for them and releasing them into their identity and destiny as Children of God.
A large part of this, pretty much the main part of my job is to be able to ehar God for what He wants to do and how He wants to teach them at any given time, what things to raise and what to let go, and in what direction He wants the school to go each week.
The biggest focus of my personal study and challenge has been investigating to voice of God, and how to hear Him more, and in more specific situations. This has been an incredible journey, and I can tell you that He is faithful! Just as He says in Deut 4:29, Jer 29:12, James 4:8 when we take the time to seek Him and ask questions, He will give us answers and more! Jer 33:3! (These verses simply state that when we draw near to God and seek him, then He promises to be found by us. These have been some promises that I have stood on by faith over the past weeks and have encouraged me greatly, check them out!)
Some cool stories from this have been one morning I was praying and asking God to tell me things. He said that at 12:11pm at the local McDonalds there will be a guy with a white cap come in. I rocked up at 12:08, and there was no white hat, I was standing awkwardly when I saw two guys skate in. I checked my phone and guess what time it was? 12:11.
Another time was I was praying for an outreach team where I got a word from God for them relating to ministry to do. I had no idea of what their plans were, but after I gave it they mentioned to me an opportunity that had been presented to them that I described in what God told me.
One more example was yesterday afternoon I was simply spending time with God when a man popped into my head. He is a pastor of the city here who I have seen around every now and then. I asked God what He wanted to say, and he gave me something for Him. That night the pastor was at our public meeting and when I gave the word to Him confirmed what God had been telling him.
As an encouragement for you, the main thing God has been teaching me regarding hearing His voice is to simply believe it. Ha, we ask so much, but then are to scared to follow through with what He is saying. We will never know if it is Him or not without taking that risk.
Well, there was a brief update, and I hope that you guys are going just as well.
If any of you would like to know how you can help, please let me know!
Thanks!
Daniel
