2 Corinthians 4:4
"The god of this age has blinded the eyes of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ."
Now I can get into a theological essay on pre-destination and the role of choice in salvation, but let's face it, it doesn't really do anything for us does it?
Instead let me give you hope, as I have received it.
God the Father here is not responsible for darkness and blinding eyes, in fact, following on it talks about how He loves to bring light to darkness.
This is a little thing, yet is gives us hope, and with hope comes faith, and with faith, can come love, and power from heaven as we begin to shift atmospheres and bring the weapons of our faith to the fight.
God desires to bring light to the darkness. He shares His light with those who receive it, and He gives them the ability to become like Him, bringing light.
You see, God is "making his appeal [to the world] through us", that we might become reconciled to God. Which basically means that there is peace life and love between us and God, and through this, we become the righteousness of God.
This is good news.
This is worth sharing.
This changes lives, and sets people free.
This is what I want to do, because this is what what done to me. Life, joy, love and peace. In ways that I didn't know existed, yet hoped for in the depths of my heart.
Be blessed!
Daniel
