Ephesians 1:18-19
The prayer that Paul prayed so many centuries ago is being answered in our lives. It is my prayer, for myself, and for you who are reading this. let it be your prayer as well, for your friends and family, for yourself, for your nation.
The power that we have as Christians, is real, and it is working today. It is so much more than I can even dream of.
Jesus, the author of our faith, understood the Father, and understood Himself. He knew where He stood, and it was not as a beggar asking for the crumbs off the table of our God! He knew that He had authority on the earth, as He was of the heavenly nature. That same heavenly nature is in us, when we were born again.
We are sons. We are daughters.
We will rule in the Kingdom of God. How much higher is that to this earth? We are called to live here with the power of Christ manifest (realised) in us.
The power that is for us, is like the working of His mighty strength. We have His strength. Imagine for a moment you bought an earth mover as you needed to do some digging in your garden. So you dug out a few weeds with the earth-mover, and sat it back down until the next time you needed to re-pot your dandelions. It's quite ridiculous isn't it?
This illustration cannot even measure the difference between the power that He has for us and in us. To what we are asking Him for...
Now this is not conquering, we are more than conquerors. We move beyond the level of conquering, as conquerors dominate others and use their powers selfishly. We are unselfish and the power that we have is the power to love those who hate us. Let me ask you, who else has that power? When someone spits in their face to reply back to them not with fists and violence, but with genuine love and kindness. That is our power. Let me encourage you, this power is the power to demolish strongholds!
Yes we have the power to heal the sick, to raise the dead, and see transformation where we walk. But its more than just that!
Let us awaken to the hope which He has set before us. That in Him we are free indeed! We are free to pursue Him, and free to love others. This love spills over into healings, deliverance and other things, but always we have the hope which does not disappoint.
I pray that we are awakened to our true inheritance in God, and will not settle for anything less!
