I was reading through 1 and 2 Kings, and just finished them today, and I realised that nowhere is God ever concerned about how powerful the darkness and sin is. King after King, generation after generation mess up. They lead the nation into evil, sacrificing children, idolatry, etc. The entire world is against them, empires beating down the gates, yet God is not worried about whether His people will make it. In fact, He does it to test them in the fire, and as discipline for their actions.
How often do I look at the circumstances of life, and see so much stacked against, and think, how could God come through?
A lot.
What is the truth?
God is not mocked, He is not concerned with the circumstances. He is more powerful and His purposes will be revealed, right now I do not have a great perspective of this, like a mouse in a maze I am finding my way around, trusting that my Father's voice is leading me well. I know that I will get perspective, and that He see's thing's from a different angle.
What did He desire of the Kings? What does He desire of us? That we would lvoe Him and walk in His ways.
How often do we learn thing's about God, and yet not fall deeper in love as a result? Too often.
Let us fall more in love with Him today, tomorrow, this week. Let us know Him more, not just about Him. Let's walk with Him, because our worry will never give us peace, it's ironic to think that's how we often pursue peace... Through anxiety.
What is we had the result already? Like watching a game of football that was recorded, it is exciting, and we don't know how it's going to happen, yet there is a peace throughout the whole because the end is known. What a joy, God has given us the ending.
He wins.
What if instead of worrying about the journey, we embraced it, and sucked the life out of the moment?
I'm going to try and live life this way. Join me if you want.
Let His peace be your sheild,
Daniel
