The July Classic DTS as i have previously mentioned is what I am currently involved in, and it's going great! We are now into the 5th week and are steadily making our way through the lecture phase. The topics that we have covered so far include; Fear of the Lord, Fatherheart of God, Character of God and now into Relationships! It's all very exciting, with amazing teachers coming from all over the globe to speak to us about each topic.
We currently have Steve Aherne, the national director for YWAM australia talking to us. For a man of such lofty stature, he is such a relatable and down to earth guy, with great wisdom, and a keen ear for discerning God's voice. I ahve learnt so much from what he has said, with the main points being that our attitudes reflect all that we do a dn how we live our life (yes dad you were right after all :P ). that if we can have a right heart and attitude in a sitaution, then thats how we position ourselves to be friends with God, and for Him to use us to see His kingdom come. Among many toher pearls of wisdom, this is one thing that really stood out.
Lately I have really been desiring more of God. In what way you ask? Well in every way! I want to be a man after God's own heart as King David was, I want to grow more in my relationship with God, and also to be used by Him to reach people all over the world and see them come to know God. I have been questioning how this can be, how can God use me, and my impatience started to grow. Well, this week has been a huge blessing for me at this time, and God is telling me that all I have to do is work on the position and condition of my heart. Of my attitudes and then God will take care of the rest.
This is a huge issue, and God has really been pressing it on my heart, as too often i really dont have the best attitude. Sure i can justify it away by saying its better than most, or that i eventually do it anyway. But to truly be the person that God has called me to be, for YOU to be the person that God has called YOU to be, to realise the plans that He has for YOU, then we must do that hard task of setting aside our rights to be bitter, angry or even to have life the way that we think we expect of deserve. When we do all of this, God can then lead us into the destiny that He has planned, which is far and above all that we could ever hope or dream of. "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” -- 1 Corinthians 2:9
Finishing off, we have had a lot of amazing weather up here the last few days, nothing like speanding some time soaking up some sun, or at least, not freezing constantly!
I hope that you all are well, please hit me up for more details or if you just want to talk! Love you all!
Peace,
Daniel
