So once again its been a crazy week! Sorry if I havent been available very much to talk, but it has been quite intense! Who knew that missions was this hard right?
The topic this week was Evangelism, which was with a guy named Rod Thorpe, who actually founded this base (YWAM Newcastle) around 20 years ago. He then moved to Jordan 14 years ago and is the entire Middle East Director for YWAM, governing such sountries as Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, etc. If you have read any news over the past year you would know how crazy his job is with revolutions in 3 of those countires and civil wars in another 2, as well as the constant and escalating conflict between Israel and well... Every other country in that region.
The stories that he would share from his time over there are amazing. Sure there are miracles, but the most encouraging news is that God is moving in powerful ways in these countries who are completely and totally locked down by Islam. People are coming to Christ all over the place and in great numbers. This is not reported in any media, but praise God, that He is moving in these spiritual strongholds!
He shared some really cool and challenging things which have made me think a lot over the past few days, and I will be sharing them with you all hopefully over the weekend so stay tuned for some interesting and challenging thoughts if you dare?
In other news God is continuing to move in powerful ways, with more people getting healed in youth street. This past week, as I was standing around after the service (LIVE) I saw one of our crew also standing there. I asked her how she was gonig and everything, and while she said she was fine, I could tell that there was more. After realising that I wasn't going to be satisfied with just that answer, she opened up about how her foot had been hurting for the past 7 weeks due to an injury while kicking a ball around with her sister. I asked her if I could pray for her foot, and she agreed. I prayed and she said that it felt a bit better. But once again, I wanted the full healing, so i continued and it slowly had less and less pain, until we targeted the specific spot and prayed one last time. I asked her to walk around the hall, and she got back totally healed with no pain!
Also at the shopping center last night, I prayed for a young guy that had his arm in a cast, who was open to me praying. He said that it hurt less after praying, but wasn't totally healed. I also prayed for another guy whose arm was damaged in a car accident and would never have 100% use of his hand again. We weren't sure if it was totally healed, but hopefully it gave those guys a glimpse of God, and encouraged them that God cares and He loves them. I am continuing to pray for God to heal more and more, and with more power, but I've started to step out in Faith, and God is already moving! Praise God for His healing and how He loves them so much!
God is also doing really cool things with the school at the moment, and the students are all growing so much more into their identity in Christ and beginning to realise that God has plans for them, and desires a great future for them.
Also outreach is coming in in 5 weeks, to Fiji and New Zealand, working with the earthquake minsitry and relief in Christchurch, and various ministries in Fiji. I will give an update of that very soon as well, but I would ask if you would keep me and my team in your prayers, for all the details to come together, and also if you would consider supporting me financially in this trip.
Once again if you ahve any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, and hit me up, I try and respond to every question here on the blog, but feel free to contact me at any time.
Thanks so much for your friendship and suppport, God is moving here and I can't do it without your help!
Peace,
Daniel
