I was reading James the other day and came across this passage.
"Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us?"
James 4:5
The previous comments were of where our friendship lies. When our friendship lies with the world, we find that God's jealousy is aroused. He does not share.
To some this statement that God doesn't share could be offensive. Yet when we look at a marriage, we find that a marriage in which either partner is shared with someone else, is evil. It is wrong, disturbing and very offensive. What kind of marriage would the partner every second day going off with another man, another woman?
God wants our whole heart, because His whole heart is ours.
The more that you love someone, the greater the pain when the tiniest hurt occurs. God has invested everything that he possibly could into us, and our friendship with the world and the things of the world is a rejection of the good things of God. Not on His end, but our will.
I encourage you guys to make an effort to choose friendship with God. We cry out to Him for more of Him, more of Him, more of His blessing's and provision. Yet He has already done it all, we are simply not in the position to receive from Him what we are crying out for.
If someone constantly complained about how we were not friends, and yet every time I made an effort to hang out with them but they were too busy watching movies, reading books, talking with other people, where does the responsibility lie for the distance in relationship.
I love you all! Please comment or email me if you have any questions or would like to explore this further.
