During His opening He said some things that really got me thinking, about humans, God and the intentions of God for humankind from the beginning.
That we were co-creators with Him, having received His authority to rule over this world. He gave it to us. He refused to take it back when we screwed it up, and it was in the hands of the Enemy until he got it back through the cross.
He talked about how we are created in the image, the likeness and the weight of God.
What does this mean, it meant that in the beginning, when people looked at us, they saw God. They had to do a double take to make sure that it wasn't. The hebrew word used to describe likeness, means shadow. We were God's shadow and illusion.
So what does this mean then, and why was it so convicting?
We talk a lot in Christian culture about being the likeness and image bearers of God. We say to each other, let the world just see Christ in us.
But let's be honest. When I walk down the street, I don't get funny looks, or people don't stop me and say there is something different about you. You carry an Authority and a Weight, you have power in you.
Maybe it's just me, or maybe we are missing it?
I believe that we can see this happen. We can be restored to former glory and carry the weight of the Lord in us and with us.
How?
Well, I'm not exactly sure, and would appreciate your advice on this too!
Please contribute if you want, if not then I'll keep looking into it for myself. All I know is that I have hope for a greater ending than we had beginning.
Peace,
Daniel
