Maybe you are shaking your head right now saying no... that's not true at all, in fact this has been the worst week of my life. My cat died, my hair hasn't looked right, the weather is terrible, I'm tired, and I had a bad case of food poisoning to top it all off!
My question is why would that stop you from having one of the best weeks of your life?
Before you get angry and close this page vowing never to return, follow me for a second as I share the freedom that is found in Christ, through a thankful life.
You see, freedom is a choice we have, happiness is a decision that we make to take an attitude of thankfulness before our King, and define a culture of gratitude in all we do. When we live in this attitude, freedom is found. Suddenly, no matter what obstacle raises it's head before us, we have the grace to overcome it.
When we position ourselves to say to anything that comes against us, "I am SO thankful for you God, I thank you, that YOU are the Lord of my life, that you have a plan for me, that this will work out for my best as I put my trust in You alone! I am grateful that I have life, I am grateful that I have friends and family and food and shelter, that I have a hope in eternity that heavenly living awaits me!"
As we think of these moments as a divine privilege to worship and praise our creator in the midst of our trials, and tribulations. Knowing that for all of eternity we will not have to opportunity again to worship Him when we are up to our head in mess and anger and mistakes. That for eternity, we will live in the perfect environment, with the perfect people in perfect communion with God.
But right now, when none of that seems near, we have the ability and freedom to worship Him anyway and so glorify Him all the more!
We find freedom from the snares of the enemy, as he tries to trap us into being angry, bitter, self-righteous and feeling sorry for ourselves. When we live in constant thankfulness to God, none of that can stick to us! he has no power, he cannot tempt us, he cannot control us, we are free indeed my friend!
What a joy to live in the hope of eternity, and the freedom to pursue Him now.
Be blessed!
