You see, me and Shane, who is currently on DTS here in Newcastle right now, were on security for Youthstreet. Security detail gives you a lot of time to just hang, because you do what pretty much every security person in the world does... Nothing. Haha.
So we were just chilling and talking to each other. I love talking to this guy because he is so passionate about God and exploring the depths of God. He just has a faith and expectation in His Father that is so simple, and that is what makes it so powerful.
So we were hanging out discussing heaps of things, and we got talking about God, and were getting hit with ridiculous revelations that I can't even describe. It was so crazy I was awestruck about just how GOOD God is. How He makes a way for us to even come to Him. Faith itself is a gift from God.
We go on one of our regular patrols and when we get back we see that one of the crew was hanging outside and holding her head in her hands. We asked what was wrong and she said that she had a migraine.
We were about to keep walking on when I thought, wait a minute... Let's see what God wants to do here. We were just talking about faith in Jesus. Wholeheartedly believing that He is who He says He is. (dwell on that for awhile and I promise it will change your life.) We asked if we could pray for her, and did so. We asked her how she felt now, and she remarked that the pain had definitely lessened. So we thought ok, the pain went down, lets go the whole way. We prayed again and there was no pain. After repeatedly asking her to tell the truth and not just tell us what we wanted to hear, we were convinced. Especially as she immediately went back into the dance party with blaring music and bright lights, which for anyone with a migraine would be impossible to do.
We went inside and I asked a friend of mine here on staff if anyone else was sick or hurt that she knew about. (God was healing people tonight!) She said that another of the crew had a crazy headache as well. 10 minutes alter God had healed her as well.
We continued our night and at around 9pm when everyone had pretty much left, me and Shane were waiting on the front steps when a YWAMer came out to see how we were doing in the cold and to chill out there. We asked how she was and lo and behold... another headache! Shane and I just looked at each other before we asked her if we could pray. Similar story, where we prayed once and the pain lessened, again and it was gone completely.
Some may say, oh it was only a headache. It was only a headache. But it was pain that was there one moment. The next after prayer had completely gone. It was a testimony of the power and faithfulness of God. We worked with what we had that night. If there was blind, deaf, crippled we would have prayed for them too, but we had people with pain in their heads, and so they were healed.
I say this to you not to lift us up. Because I want to say to you that this week expect God to do the same. If you see someone in pain. If you hear someone say, my head hurts, whatever it may be, pray for them, and they will recover. God is healing people. Am I special to see it happen to me? No.
God told us earlier that night that if we only believed Him, if we only believed in who He said He was. The healer, the redeemer, the provider. that we would move in power and love with Him. We were convicted of our unbelief. That we can't even accept His words without pure faith, and faith comes from God. Ask God for faith, and see mountains move. (Matthew 17:20)
Rise up generation into your inheritance and promise. Will you receive the fullness? Or will you be content with with the scraps that fall from the table? Will you live the 'normal' life that is outlined in the Bible, or the one that is passed down from generations of unbelief and skepticism?
When you see God heal people, feel free to share it here and build faith together.
With love,
Daniel
